Elzeard Bouffier
the man who planted trees

'The Man Who Planted Trees' tells the story of a shepherd, Elzeard Bouffier, who decided to restore the ruined landscape of a desolate valley in France after WWI by single-handedly cultivating a forest, by planting acorns one-by-one.

And, slowly over time the community of humans and animals around him come back to life. The village and the countryside around it thrive, and that is reward enough for this humble man.

Most businesses plan for the next 1 to 3 years, when really we need to be thinking longer-term like 7-10 years. With a longer view, you will build your company differently by putting strong foundations in place now for future, solid growth. Like planting trees, like Elzeard.

I love building things that last...

When I was a teenager, I used to build fences on farms in the summer. Every time I return home to the US, I always detour to admire my projects and I still have a warm feeling when - years later - I return to see the fences still standing and in good nick! Relevance you ask?

I carry that same passion into my professional life. However, now I use my expertise, experience and energy to helping SMEs and challenger brands (the underdogs of sorts) to grow, develop and - most of all - flourish.

After all these years, I still love building things that last!

My passion - as well as my career - has been focused on helping high growth SME companies and brands develop.
